The Reel Time Band are recognised at the forefront of contemporary Scottish folk rock, taking Scottish traditional music firmly into the 21st century. With influences from popular music, the bagpipe led band mix traditional folk tunes with creative bass lines and an electrifying rhythm section to amaze audiences all over the world.

The Scraggly Cats has been developed by the musicians from the Reel Time Band. Bringing in a dynamic vocalist to cover Pop and Scottish songs. The band have a troupe of dancers and can create theatre shows internationally.

The musicians who feature in the band have a wealth of professional experience. From TV, radio, musical theatre, cruise ships and Scottish shows. The diversity of their experience helps to create the bands unique sound.

2013

It has been a busy year for the Reel-Time Band; listed below are some of the exciting events and festivals the band has played in 2013:

  • Visit Britain hosted an event for international buyers at Wembley Stadium and The Scraggly Cats rocked the stadium alongside 8 highland dancers to wow 700 international incentives and meetings buyers (IMB’s).

  • The Reel-Time Band rocked out at the on its 18th birthday of the Arran Distillery!

  • Burns Night at Stirling castle

  • Virgin Little Red route launch: instrument workshops, concert and performance

  • During Edinburgh’s Tradfest the Reel Time Band played a host of traditional tunes in Greyfriar’s Kirk to complement the guests’ cocktail evening.
